Discover the Library’s Arts & Culture Collections

Sedona Public Library’s commitment to serving as an arts and culture center means that you can take advantage of a variety of resources tailored to our community every time you pay us a visit. Stop by to view the quilts exhibit or attend an Arizona Humanities program, and you can explore our collections of books, magazines, CDs, and DVDs that provide you a ticket to the world of music, film, painting, dance, photography, and much more.

Whether you prefer to appreciate arts and culture or want to take part in a creative endeavor, you will find a book on our shelves or available to order from the Yavapai Library Network. New book arrivals include Vincent Van Gogh: The Complete PaintingsKaffe Fassett’s Heritage Quilts, and The Elements of Landscape Oil Painting, as well as the latest biographies of musicians, actors, and writers.

The Library’s magazine offerings encompass a wide range of artistic activities and cultural areas. Choose from publications such as Entertainment WeeklySouthwest ArtSmithsonianArchitectural Digest, and Rolling Stone, and browse our great selection of titles for crafters, writers, and other artists, like American Patchwork and QuiltingWriter’s Digest, and Outdoor Photographer.

Did you know th e Library has over 1,300 music CDs available to check out? Choose from genres such as rock, new age, holiday, classical, and country. Thousands of additional music CDs are available from other county libraries. Browse the collection, located near the DVDs, or order online from your home computer.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Library is continually receiving donations of the popular Great Courses series and adding them to our collection. These audiobook or DVD courses, taught by noted experts in their fields, provide opportunities to hear in-depth lectures about artistic and cultural subjects from Shakespeare to Impressionism to jazz.

This is only a small sampling of the arts and culture collections offered by the Library—our online resources also give you access to digital magazines, books, and audiobooks on a wealth of topics. Ask a reference librarian how to start using these terrific free resources, available to you 24/7.
