Latino Services Librarian

DESCRIPTION: The Latino Services Librarian is a full time permanent position with the Sedona Public Library. Under direction, this person will work with the Library Director and senior staff to create and implement Spanish services and programs as well as serve as library liaison to Spanish speaking patrons. Will provide reference and reader advisory services. Will assist patrons in the use of the library facilities, resources, and collections. Responsible for the collection management and acquisition of Spanish language multi-format materials for adults, youth, and children. Develops and coordinates outreach efforts throughout the community.

HOURS: Full time. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends

REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Library Science preferred or masters in Bilingual Education. Consideration will be given to candidates with lesser educational qualifications who have significant related experience. Must be able to speak, read, and write Spanish fluently and have the ability to interpret and/or translate. Must be self-directed and exhibit exemplary customary service with a proven ability to work well members of the public. Demonstrated experience in educational instructional, public speaking, and program management.

SALARY: $38,000 - $45,000 / annually. Benefits include health insurance, vacation, sick leave, and retirement contributions.
